Hi all. I am building my first PC with the help of a hobbyist friend of mine and would welcome some feedback on my parts list.

I will be using this PC for mostly to play MMOs, such as WoW, GW2 and the upcoming Wildstar. I want to be able to max out the setting for raiding and to appreciate all the games have to offer. I have been playing on an iMac for most of my gaming career, but now think it would be fun to build a dedicated system.

My budget is between $1000-$1500 excluding the monitor.

I realize there there is always something new around the corner and don't need the latest and greatest, but that said I can afford to get what I need. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for your reply. For my own education/knowledge, can you share why you chose the parts you changed?

Thanks again, Scott

newer platform ( LGA1150 ) to make it easier to upgrade later. Much better SSD and VGA. More storage capacity ( you don't really need a super fast HDD like the WD Black when you already own a SSD ). PSU might be overkill but there was a deal for that PSU and higher wattage rate can't hurt your PC. As for case, the Fractal R2 offer better cable management and air flow while being cheaper and still has that sleek look.

Awesome, thanks. One thing I realize I didn't mention is I am also (when possible) trying to look for quieter options - which was why I chose the case I did. I will for sure take another look at the Fractal R2 as well. I also saw some research on this site about Nvidia cards working much better for WoW than AMD - has that been your experience as well? Thanks again.
