I upgraded my motherboard to an ASRock a785gm-LE. It's been installed for 3 days & I'm getting random reboots. So far it's rebooted while idle & while using Firefox. There have been no BSODs or dump files. Only a kernel-power 41 entry in Event Viewer that says:
The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
I ran Memory Test x86 last night & it passed for 7 1/2 hours. Then I ran Prime95 & it passed for 6 hours. I walked away & returned to the system. It obviously rebooted; it was sitting at an empty desktop. There's a bug check entry 1001 in the Event Viewer that says:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000101 (0x0000000000000030, 0x0000000000000000, 0xfffff88002f63180, 0x0000000000000002). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: .
I checked the dump file in Windbg & it said it was probably caused by ntkrnlmp.exe. I don't know what that means.
Does this sound like a bad motherboard from ASRock? I had another one earlier this month with a similar issue & it stopped posting all together. I RMA'd it & now I'm here. While troubleshooting the last one, I installed a new Seasonic power supply so it seems like it's not a power issue.
