I had the same error over and over. BSOD with no dump file created.
What finally solved the problem was updating the firmware of the SSD.

sorry to necro the thread, but I feel obligated to point out that updating drivers won't solve s**t, and never does. Simple logic should suffice. If everything has been working fine, and you have changed nothing, then there is no f-ing reason why updating drivers would solve anything.

I'm having this same issue and forgot how I resolved it last time, but will update the thread with the ACTUAL SOLUTION when I waste hours of my life in yet yet another Microsoft moron-a-thon hunt for simple answers.

(BTW,, this is a perfect example of using cheap H1B VISA foreign labor. Nothing documented, no help, support answers are comically ineffective and only tangentially related to actual issue. But I digress...)

----- update -- posting solution in another seperate thread - see below ----

This is an old thread, but sure enough, this will pop up for years in stupid google search, ironically, it was google (potentially) who caused the problem in this case. Specifically Google Chrome.

So, now I understand what's going on in MY CASE, YOU SHOULD TRY TO.....THINK....not only about my solution, but how my solution might apply in your own situation.

ex. you don't have google chrome, you use firefox, so you ignore my answer.

1. So I came home, fired up my computer and up pops a box saying that:

"You must restart your computer to apply these changes"

...and I'm like, what f-ing changes, wtf!? I didn't authorize any changes....

2. I went to "Computer Management" and immediately saw the

"Event viewer error 0xC000000D"

"Session "Microsoft-Windows-Setup" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D"

------ ignore this rant about liar and con-artist bill gates/ microsoft ----------

+ some stupid crap about f-ing panther, what is panther, who is panther, why is it being installed, all those questions are of course omitted thanks to brilliant scientist bill gates and company, so you are left with this dumbass code and no clue, and other fools telling you to update your drivers, or you got a virus, etc...

Along with Microsoft BS idiocy whereby, it is apparently too difficult for brilliant scientists at Microsoft to write a sentence explaining the error and instead use various codes and mystery processes which only describe the error's endpoint and not the root cause. ...but I digress, we could talk for days about how stupdi idiotic and nonsensical cheap stupid swindler bill gates and microsoft is.... crying to congress about not enough H1B VISA's ...f-ing liar....anyway back to the issue.)
------------ end ranting about liar and con-artist bill gates/ microsoft ----------

3. then I went over the events of the day and realized I had updated Google Chrome, and forgot that the Trolls at Google every other update insist on ADDING windows tasks to automatically run google update whether you want to or not.

---- start google rant -------
And of course, the 6 year thread on Google Support asking how to disable this 'feature' and not ONE F-ING response from google, which is typical of spoiled entitled children, who do nothing all day long, but get paid as if they are actually working.

CLASSIC!!!

So these A-HOLES at GOOGLE, when you unsuspectingly update your browser, decide that, hey why not add all this other BS to the users computer, because we are google, and we went to ivy league so we know better than everyone else.
------ end google rant ------------

4. Thus you will find crap in the Windows Task Scheduler section of Computer Management.

AD RMS

http://msexchangeguru.com/category/adrms/

GoogleUpdateTaskMachineUA

GoogleUpdateTaskMachineCore

+

(this crap, I suspect was added by a-holes at Apple after updating itunes)

AD RMS Rights Policy Template Management (Automated)

Basically the solution was to remove S**T added to the task manager by A-HOLES from said companies.

Now I have no idea which one of these A-HOLES caused the issue, however, I do know that I didn't authroize any of these tasks and therefore disabled them.

Presto! Problem has been resolved.

As usual, the problem was caused by idiots imposing their jihad of auto-update upon users. Which in turn caused other issues and installations and changes to arise without the users knowledge or consent.

Which led to other issues.

Isssue was resolved by not listening to every idiot on the internet with a blog, and disabling needless crap, and then disabling even more needless crap which was added while your back was turned.

so because thinking no longer happens, the way you might resolve this yourself is to look at task scheduler for any new or unusual tasks that have been added or been running and failling, and disabling them.

Now AD RMS Rights policy sounds super important, however, if it was reeally that important then they should have explained WTF it was before they just installed it into my computers automated tasks.

tl;dr examine the task scheduler for new tasks that have either been failing or added without your consent and DISABLE DISABLE DISABLE.
