Hi. I have an HP DV7-6154ea with intel i7-2630QM and intel M65 motherboard. Will this support PC-3 12600 SODIMM? I know this is slightly faster at 1600Mhz, and will only work at the slower 1333Mhz, but my question is, will it work at all on this motherboard?
Thanks,
Ian

Yeah it will ..
If your motherboard supports 1333 MHz and you connect a 1600 MHz RAM it would work at 1333 MHz.

When I was building my PC a while ago, I too made same mistake and bought 1600 MHz RAM. I connected it and it gave output of 1333 MHz only. It was then when I checked MoBo specs in detail and found it it does not support any higher so I changed my RAM to 1333 MHz one.

Thanks mate. I'm looking at getting Crucial Vengeance memory, hard to get 8GB at 1333Mhz as a SODIMM. So thought I would just get the 1600Mhz although it will only work at 1333Mhz.

16GB here we come....(total overkill).
