In the past I have used Xcopy and xcopy32 to copy the complete contents of a hard drive to a folder on a different drive, Now I can not seem to get the Syntax switches correct, I have tried using xcopy /? to look up the switche setting but I just cann't seem to get my brain around it (I guess 70 years will cause that). If someone can give me the right switch settings, I will make a bat file from it and maybe not forget where I put it ;) ;)

I am try to copy everything on drive C: to a folder named intel-I7 on drive J:. This I intend to use as a reference file not as a back up . I am running windows xp pro SP3 on a intet I7 CPU
Thanks in Advance

Even with admin level rights you will not be able to access certain system owned and controlled directories (System Volume Information, where the restore points live, for one). XCOPY is the wrong tool for the job in this case. If you want the entire contents of the drive then you need to be using one of the cloning tools.
