Is there anything wrong with this CPU?

I currently have an AMD FX-4170 CPU and I've heard some pretty bad things about it.
Is it worth upgrading, or should I leave it as it is?

There's no reason to upgrade if it still suits your needs, unless you have money to spare.

why are u experiencing any problems with the cpu
if u want to upgrade there are better cpu out there that is only if u r not satisfied with ur current cpu
some cpu like fx 4170 < fx 4350 < fx 6350 < fx 8350

If you plan to get no bottleneck with the 760ti whenever it comes then you should upgrade your CPU to a FX6350 or better ( 8320/8350 ).

Just make sure you have a PSU that is up to the task for a newer card.
