Hey, I recently bought a corsair h70 and I started to remove the backplate of the Asus M5A99X EVO Rev 2.0 and when loosening the screws it made a sort of crunching noise, like when you remove a sticker from something. Does this mean the motherboard had adhesive on it? Does this also mean that I've damaged the board?

If anyone else has removed the backplate of an am3/am3+ motherboard and installed their own cooler feel free to give me some pointers on how to go about installing this corsair h70.

Thanks

Solution
Backplate protection will be well attached due to the pressure used to hold the heatsink and the noise just confirms this and shouldn't cause any issues with the motherboard.

I kept unscrewing and the backplate just fell off, at first i thought if it is glued on i could install the corsair backplate over this, but the asus backplate just dropped off the back of the motherboard. I hope it didnt scratch anything :/
