Merge Unallocated Space

Hey Gang,

I am currently using a Laptop running Windows XP, I have recently wiped the HPRecovery partition which totals up 6GB of my hard drive. I would like to merge the newly wiped partition to main my drive (C:). I do understand that this is not possible in Windows XP without help from some third party software, I have EaseUS Partition Master and Partition Magic but none of them seem to have this feature, as least not that I can see. I don't really want to mess around with my only hard drive for this computer. Google hasn't yielded many results either, I have the impression that I need to convert the unallocated space into an NTFS drive and then extend my C: drive over this but I'm not too sure.

Does anybody have experience with this type of thing?

I have taken a screenshot for you. The unallocated space does indeed seem to be behind the partition that I want to merge, but if I select the main partition or unallocated space they both bring up an error saying that there are no partitions that can be merged on this drive.

I have since solved this issue, using the Easeus free tool I turned the unallocated space into a new partition, then I merged my original partition and this newly created partition together, after a reboot the issue was solved and the 5GB has been added to my single remaining partition without issue.
