I need to change my registry but I can't because I keep getting the message "The filename, directory name or syntax is wrong"

I need to change my registry but I can't because I keep getting the message "The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect". I changed my registry but I didn't do it right (I'm a beginner). Is there any solutions to this problem that doesn't involve buying a new OS?

I tried using Ccleaner but it just comes up with the same error, "The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect"

I have an SSD and a hard drive. My SSD drive was nearly full, the files wouldn't be transferred over and I didn't understand that you could just choose your file destination. I found a solution on Google saying that you had to change the registry so your future files will go to the hard drive. I did it and now lots of programs won't run and I can't restore my computer.
  5. change it back.

When I use regedit now, I get the message "The filename, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect"
  7. sound like you did something wrong when you change the registry, did you make a backup first?

    Sadly no...
  9. try using glary utilities. ...if even that doesn't work then I'm sorry you're gonna have to reinstall the OS
