Need help choosing a CPU Cooler for my first build

Hi there,

I'm having trouble choosing a cooler for my first ever build so I haven't a clue. But I would like something that is going to keep my rig cool playing a lot of games as that is the main use for it.

I am wanting something that is going to be a snazzy upgrade as I plan on upgrading the motherboard and CPU eventually.

Zalman Z11 PLUS case
I7 CPU 930 @ 2.80 GHZ OC at 3.80 GHZ ( Which I didn't do myself )
Asus P6T SE (Socket 1366) Motherboard
12GB of Corsair DDR3 RAM
Stock case fans (5 in total) excluding the heatsink fan

and finally, ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler is being used at the moment.

I am open to W/C or an air cooled heatsink. Whatever is best suited to my build.

Thanks in advance. :)

Ive used this cooler in an i7 2011 build and it keeps it at like 15ish degrees. so id go with http://www.coolermaster.com/product/Detail/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-212-plus.html
  2. if you like your zalman case you could go with one of their distinctive CPU coolers. i have used this one and liked it a lot.

OR since closed loop watercooling kits are so easy and give you alright cooling you could get a h100i of h80i

  3. Thanks for the input guys. I chose to go with the Cooler Master Hyper 212 as it's affordable and will bump my temperatures just that little more lower. Who knows? Maybe a lot more which most of the reviews on it have stated.
