Hi

In need of some advice, my Sony Vaio laptop is having problems. When you first turn it on I get random dotted lines all over screen after bios flash screen, this happens all the way up until the Windows XP login.

Image shows my screens during login

After windows login loads up display is fine I then login and display perfectly fine,

though in device manager my VGA card is now Standard and says disbaled, I enable it and it asks for drivers so I install Nvidia Drivers and then choose to restart but then proceeded with BSOD and Problem encountered and windows shutdown to prevent damage.

Any ideas, would lead to dodgy video but why would my display be fine until I load up drivers.

Its Sony Vaio VGN-AR21S Laptop with Nvidia 7600GT Dedicated Graphics and T7200 Processor with 2GB Ram

Temps on CPU etc fine, low 50's when idling with about 30 usage according to Real Temp. Doesnt seem to get hot at all

I would try to uninstall the Nvidia driver completely and run a program call Driver Fusion to remove all the driver files left behind. Driver Fusion has a free trial in which you can use. After running Driver fusion, reboot your system then reinstall your original nvidia driver.

I know that Nvidia is notorious with having graphic issues when you re-install or update new drivers if the old driver wasn't completely remove. Even if you remove the driver, it will still leave some files behind. That is why it is recommended to use a program like Driver Fusion.

And if that doesn't work...well then it may be some other issue beside the drivers
