Hi, I'm in the middle of assembling my first computer and I've been following Newegg's tutorial. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d_56kyib-Ls&feature=youtube_gdata_player)
I'm still waiting on my other parts, but I wanted to make sure the parts I have now worked. What I did was put my CPU in my motherboard, placed the stock fan on it, placed the ram on, and connected it to my power supply. Then I connected the motherboard to my monitor. I also connected a speaker onto my motherboard to hear the beeps. In Newegg's video, the basic system loaded with a splash screen followed by an error message indicating there is no hard drive. However, when I turn the power on, the screen just loads to the BIOS and I don't hear a beep. There is an additional "A6 error" given by my motherboard. I looked in the manual and it translates to "SCSI detect" Is this normal for a first boot?

Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme6
CPU: Intel i7 3770K
PSU: Cooler Master 720W Silent Pro
RAM: 1X 8Gb Crucial Ballistix Sport

No, I don't have a HDD or CD drive to boot. The rest of my build is coming in two days, I just wanted to make sure my current parts worked properly, which is why I'm asking if this was normal?
