Should I buy the i7 3770k or 4770k in December?

I am going to do a completely new build and have to choose between these processors. I can buy the 3770k for $230 and a z77 extreme 4 with it for $95, both new. The 3770k can be bought for $280 and a z87 extreme 4 by asRock for $120. Which should I go for? I will be doing some video editing/rendering but mostly gaming.

December is too far away by then AMD will release Steamroller Q4 so there are variable to consider, no point making a decision at this time.

I think AMD will still continue the two steps behind intel approach. Go with Haswell, you can upgrade to the next release of CPUs then with the new socket that will prob be released around, or after AMD releases thier next ones...

The 4770K will only be a few dollars more expensive than the 3770K by then, so it would be the better buy. But yeah, you might want to keep an eye on Steamroller or any other unexpected developments. December's still far away.
