Hello. I built my own computer and I was having issues with one of my hard drives. When connected to my motherboard, it does not show up under computer but it shows up under my device manager. I tried looking up ways to fix it but I couldn't seem to find a solution. I also tried disconnecting it and connecting it to a different port or not connecting it at all during boot but that results in a "bootmgr is missing" issue. Any help would be appreciated.

No I didn't. The first reason was that I wouldn't know where to find the hard drive to format it and the second reason for not formatting it is that if I do, I'm worried that it will affect how my computer will boot. I'm wondering if there is a way to get it to show up on my computer.

It won't show up in my computer until you partition it. Is this a new harddrive (hdd) or one you are reusing? Meaning is there data on it you want to keep?

I don't know what OS you are using but in win7 if you click on start then type in Disk management you'll get the option where it says create and format hard disk partitions. Click on that and if its a new drive you should see a that is blank. All white.

Thanks. I found out what was wrong with it. I dont exactly know what happened but I formatted it and reinstalled windows 7. Then I assigned it a letter and it works now.
