I bought a 3 TB hard drive to use in my hot-swap ESATA port for storing lots of videos. The trouble is it seems that my computers motherboard BIOS is limiting at to 2 TB. I saw of video which can be seen here which is from the hard drive maker of my hard drive Seagate which states that you can partition hard drives for data storage in Windows 7 if you use GUID Partition STANDERD which will allow you to utilize the full capacity of hard drives over 2 TB by by breaking up the capacity to partition of less than 2 TB. I have been downloading petitioning software demos and trying to do this with little success. I just heard abou GUID petition standard so how do I do this? With what's partitioning software? Can I petition a 3 TB hard drive in a hot-swap docking station in partitions of less than 2 TB?

My computer is 4 or 5 years old and the bios is not upgradable to accommodate system hard drives of more than 2 TB.
