Hey,

I had a question about my build that i want to upgrade.

I currently have a Gigabyte micro ATX Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128555&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

And i was wondering if i could put a water cooler on the cpu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181036&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

Im just worried about the size and if it would fit or not.

Thanks!

that price is stupid for how much it can cool.

first of all, you cant even overclock on that board. a high end cooler will do nothing for you as a stock heatsink will run fine for CPUs at stock settings. this will be overkill for your CPU already

second, if you are looking for silence, you shouldnt be looking for a AIO cooling unit. a heatsink works just fine

Thanks for the recomendation!

So i will probably go for an unlocked i5 edition. Like that:

And if i overclock it, would it be better to have a liquid cooler or a cpu fan.

Thanks!

The 212 EVO is equal to a H60 in terms of cooling performance, no reason to go for the more expensive one. I agree with BigTroll, until your right at the top of CLC cooling (H100i, X60 Kraken, H220, though even this is iffy) or are in the realm of custom water, water-cooling is not worth it.

I suggest you get a Haswell system, no reason to stick with old tech.

would be a nice build? (I have everything not shown on the list)

Thanks!

BTW, is http://www.amazon.com/Asus-P8Z68-V-PRO-ASUS-Motherboard/dp/B00503EA80/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1369101037&sr=1-2&keywords=asus+p8z68-v+pro a very old motherboard? And is it any good? And can you OC on it?

Thanks for the quick response!

Thats probably going to be the full comp without the peripherals.

And what do you think about the motherboard in the link in the last comment :)

Thanks!

Huh, the link didn't paste before.

Get this CPU, its Ivy Bridge which is better than the Sandy Bridge CPU you have now.

Its old in terms of tech, about 2yrs. That being said its still a good board, was top of the line back then. With Intel's current chipset naming system, anything with a Z in the chipset number will overclock.
I wouldnt get it though, Z68 doesn't support SATAIII ports, which are required to get the full performance of modern SSD's. Stick with the Extreme4 you picked before, its a good board.

The PSU seems a bit iffy, but its Antec so it cant be too bad. Looks life to me.

Hey!

I would be doing very minor gaming. Like some small games.

And what would you change :D

Thanks!

Sure!
Ill get that cpu and keep everything else the same!

Thanks!

If it is just minor gaming, I wouldn't change anything. If you were planning to play modern games I would change the CPU/GPU combo.
