I recently bought the X79 extreme 6 for my first build and things have gone fairly well. I got windows loaded up with only a slight hitch with getting my ROM drive as the boot drive (I had it in the wrong SATA slot). After loading the drivers on the provided cd from asrock, I then went to their site to download the newer drivers and that is where I got confused. I opened up device manager to try to find if I already had the latest versions of the drivers and while I could find some of the drivers, most of the them I couldn't even locate and am now wondering how to proceed. Do some drivers need to be uninstalled before the latest version can be installed? Should I just go down the list on the download page and just download all the drivers for window 7 64bit and then run the set up for them and not worry about the previous versions? I have tried to look online but am having trouble finding the answer. Any help I could get would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, Yes, Download and install them not worrying about the drivers installed by Windows.
You can skip the CIR receiver driver if not using an Asrock smart remote, as well as the SATA Floppy image (used during Windows installation).
Install only one of the Intel SATA drivers. I suggest installing Intel Rapid Storage Technology enterprise driver and utility ver:3.5.0.1101
You can also look on the Intel site for a newer enterprise driver.
