Hello, I'm looking to do an upgrade on my ram and I never before bought any ram for my pc that wasn't on the QVL. However, I'm looking to upgrade to something new and am worried about the compatibility. What I have is a Asus m5a99x evo mobo, and the ram I'm looking at is here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313323

Im not sure what would make the mobo and ram incompatible, so I'd like to know. My current ram and the ram in question both have 240pins and are sdram. My current ram runs at 1066 and the new one is 2400.

Also a concern I had was on their Asus's specifications page on the mobo, it says this line under the memory category: * Due to CPU spec., AMD 100 series CPUs support up to DDR3 1066MHz. With ASUS design, this motherboard can support up to DDR3 1333MHz. However, On the QVL there is ram that goes up to 2000 that they say works. My CPU is a AMD Phenom II x4 980, is that why it doesn't apply to me? Thanks for taking your time to help me.
