I have very similar self made build. The FX 6000 series a very powerful CPU, uses less power and generates less heat than the FX 8120. I have an 8120 with the same exact motherboard and an HD 6870. I use it mainly for gaming a and seldom heavy stuff. I would recommend the 6000 series because with the 8120, you MUST buy an aftermarket cooler, unless it comes with one already. The stock fan is very loud and it does not cool nearly as well as lets say a CoolerMaster Hyper Evo 212 which is almost silent. On the other hand, go with a second generation FX 6300 which is much better than the first generation FX processor. This motherboard is not that great with the FX processors. When I benchmark, the CPU is fine running at 100%. The motherboard overheats. I would go with at the minimum a 970 series motherboard. I would go for the Gigabyte linked below. From my understanding they have a few layers of copper within the board that dissipates heat much better.Which is exactly what I will upgrade to so that I can feel comfortable running my processor at full power. BUT for gaming either one will do. Do yourself the service and get a 9 series board and a second generation FX processor (First and second gen are almost identically priced). BTW you don't need a 800W PSU. I run it at 650W just fine.
