Im deciding on weather or not I should purchase the 3770K or the 8350 since the pricing is so similar. I plan to be doing a lot of gaming and a lot of work in sony vegas pro. I feel like the extra cores in the 8350 are gonna help me in the long run since I do plan on keeping the computer for 3-4 years and since the 3770K is on an old chip and the 8350's big brother is still gonna be using the same chipset I feel like AMD might be the way to go. Just wanted to get some insight before I made my decision. Thoughts?

the cpus itself are not $20-30 apart unless in a different country and in that case no brainer the i7, but being the $120 difference for the cpus in the US its a different debate as the price is quite higher, i mean u can get a 8350 and decent board for the cost of the 3770k.

The 8 cores are basically 8 cores with shared resoruces etc, and being competely different but similar to intels HT, but intel doesnt label their cpus as 8 cores. Intel has 4 cores with 4 HT cores or logical cores, where amd has 4 modules with 2 logical cores per module, so being unlike intel almost every program that can will see and spread use across all eight cores as HT some programs may not recognize or use all 8 cores in a i7

Not saying the 8350 beats the...

Splendid
AMD is not the way to go, First off the 8350 isnt a true 8 core its only 4 module. Second the 3770k outpreforms the 8350 at multitasking by alot, if the price differance is only 20-30$ more its a no brainer go with intel.

well according too tek Syndicats video, the 8350 destroys or matches the 3770k in multi tasking and even in some games and will be better for future use since the 8350 still does have 8 cores plus I will be overclocking and a lot of things will be optimized for more cores now because of the consoles.

Not saying the 8350 beats the 3770k but for its price point is a competitor, unless the above being a $20-30 difference.

Also there are some benchmarks that the fx beat the i7 but is only like one, and more often not terribly behind it, everything is situational in its performance but obviously for a general any purpose intel is a sure win
