Cloning PATA (IDE) to SATA

I just finished cloning a 200GB PATA HDD to a 2TB SATA HDD (Acronis 2013) and installing it into a computer using a SATA to PATA adapter.
Eg. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PATA-IDE-TO-SATA-Adapter-Converter-For-3-5-HDD-/260811145943

Windows (XP SP3) attempts to boot and BSOD's shortly after.
Rather than installing the operating system on the 2TB I'd prefer to attempt to get the OS working as is.
Is there any Recovery console work I could do to fix this or some manual driver injecting in another PC externally?

The 200GB IDE source for the clone boots fine.

Safe mode is the same.

Reason is; internal protocol forbids me from performing re-installation.

I'm not sure this will help but after reading a couple of posts in the Acronis forums it appears that a "reverse" clone may help. In other words, place the 2TB drive in the computer it will be used in and connect the 200GB PATA drive as an external drive and then clone the drives. I believe this will require a "live boot" CD.
