Right to keep this short and simple I'll explain what I want to do then if you feel like it you can give me some answers that I would greatly appreciate.

Right, firstly I have been using a pre-built Pc for the past 2 (Nearly 3) years now for general use, low-end gaming, video-editing, music, films browsing etc. The hardware is as follows:

*256 MB Dedicated memory on-board GPU Chipset. ATI Mobility Radeon 4250.

*3 GB of DDR3 RAM

*AMD Athlon X3 425 Triple Core CPU 2.8 GHz

*500GB HDD with two 250GB Partitions

*300w No-Name brand PSU

So obviously after sometime I felt like upgrading, to keep up with some recent games that I have and want and to play the games I already own and enjoy playing in a more comfortable way to enjoy them even further.

So I decided on a few hardware changes:

*A New PSU: The Corsair 80 Plus Bronze CX430 Builder Series 430w PSU
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Builder-Series-Bronze-Supply/dp/B009RMP14M/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1370420440&sr=1-1&keywords=CX430

*The Asus Radeon 6670 1GB GDDR6 GPU
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-Radeon-Graphics-PCI-Express-Dust-proof/dp/B004XANO24/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370420387&sr=8-1&keywords=Asus+AMD+Radeon+6670

*Western Digital AV 3.5 inch 250GB 7200RPM Internal SATA Hard Drive
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-250GB-7200RPM-Internal/dp/B00134A2M8/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1370420521&sr=1-2&keywords=Western+Digital+AV+3.5+Inch

I chose these products based on individual performance, reviews, price and reliability. However the HDD is not involved in this question, rather the Graphics Card itself and the PSU I chose, I do have a budget which is why I chose these parts and the HDD was just a last minute addition to max out the budget, but anyway I read that the 6670 didn't need additional power, drawing all it needed from the PCI-E Express slot, but yet in another instance others saying that an individuals PSU wasn't good enough to support this card, so do I need to upgrade the PSU or is the PSU I have chosen good enough?

I wouldn't necessarily say to spend $700 on these things. Depends on what your monitor resolution is. But I agree that the existing rig may be beyond salvaging. You might have to start from scratch to get a rig capable of playing better games like Crysis.

Unfortunately I do have a budget, plus I am not looking to play games like Crysis, I am looking to play very little excess of games in fact, games that require a MINIMUM of 512MB Graphics Memory to run them on minimum settings, which is why I chose to upgrade, to play the games I already own and some older games that also require that as a minimum graphics memory allocation.
