Hello,

I have a Sapphire HD7870 2GB Ghz edition (product page) and a Coolmaster K280 (product page)

It says there should be room up to 315mm, enough for a hd7990. My card specs are 260(L)x113(W)x35(H) mm but for some reason it doesn't seem to fit the case in the height.

Is this because it's a card from a different manufacturer?

Thanks in advance

its because it doesnt fit :)
Solution: either buy a new case or get a cutting blade for metal and stard "diggin'" and make some room :p .
Or, get a new video card that will fit... The problem is that the gtx 660ti has the same lenght (the equivalent of the 7870...) So, either get a another video card/case or..start cutting :p

Thanks for your reply, I understand it doesn't fit but why do they advertise it has room for a HD7990? The length is not the issue, the height is.

How would I know if my GPU will fit if all manufacturers only list lengths?

Edit: Or shouldn't the height matter and am I just failing to put it in properly?

well, in the hardware speccs there is the hight of the card specified aswell, just google your card :)  ("x video card lenght/hight", in your case "Dimension 260(L)x113(W)x35(H) mm Size, you take thee "w" size witch is 11,3 cm /4,44inch).). Dont mind the "cutting part" from my previous reply :D

I am afraid I didn't entirely understand what you are trying to say. The dimensions of my card are 260(L)x113(W)x35(H)mm, and the only dimension specified for the case is the length. It does indeed fit in the length, but it doesn't in height.

So my question is, am I doing something wrong (technique of putting it in perhaps?) or how should I know which case will suit for my GPU?

i just want to say that in the speccs the "w" (width) part of the video card intrests you. Now, the mobo usualy has some spacers mounted under it not to make contact with the case. You might wanna check that out and try to mount some rubber isolators instead of the spacers (witch usualy have 8-10 mm in height). That extra 8-10mm might be the issue

I'll give that a try, thanks!
