Hey guys I'm kind of new to computers. I know quite a bit about what you want and need to play some decent games on your computer. Now I've been looking on Tiger Direct at their Barebones items and it seems to be good deals. The reason I'm posting here is I was wondering if they actually were good deals. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get the shaft like ''cough" alienware ''cough'' would promise you. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
ps. If you could also give me the best choice in the price range of 500 to 900 that would be very much appreciated

Here is a link as well: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/category/category_tlc.asp?CatId=31&name=Barebone-Kits&cm_sp=Masthead-_-Computer%20Parts-_-Spot%2002

They can be a good deal, but you have to very carefully evaluate each and every part. Quite often, they will include one or more oddities that you really don't want.

A crappy no-name PSU, or a case with no USB 3.0 on the front, or some weird RAM combination because that's what they need to get out the door.

If you save $50 on the barebones kit, but then have to spend $65 to replace the cheap PSU with something reliable...
