If I increase the ram from 4gb to 8gb will it help?

I'm with randini on this - 4GB is generally ample. I say generally because it really depends on what software you have running, but for most users, 4GB is fine. 8GB has become the norm for gaming machines (largely because RAM is so cheap, so why not?) but there's very little benefit - certainly nothing like going from 2GB up to 4GB. It'll certainly do nothing to improve gaming performance.

This is entirely dependent on what you're using your computer for.

For most users, the Facebook addicts and the email checkers, more RAM isn't the solution, a new computer is if you've got an old one and are constantly suffering from poor performance. For gamers of any sort or people with heavy workloads, more RAM is always beneficial and 8GB is the least I would suggest. Most games are cutting above the 4GB RAM average that most computers have, especially MMOs.

Not DOWNLOAD porn, watch many porn videos simultaneously. More RAM = more porn!
