No audio. (Except in Fruity Loops)

I'm not really sure how to get descriptive about this. I cannot join skype calls, or do a variety of other things due to the problem. I'm using a on-board Realtek sound card.

It's fully aware when I plug in audio stuff, but it doesn't work. I cannot configure any settings on the little audio popup, and all of the usual graphics are gone. Like the speakers that are supposed to be next to the monitor.

I went into the little windows sound thing to see if I could mess around with stuff, and see what the problem is, but, again, I cannot change settings

I am also using a Tascam unit for my microphone. So there's that, if it's relevant.
My sound drivers are up to date, and I tried flashing my BIOS to no avail.

Thanks in advance.

Are you using asio4all driver? It hogs the soundcard to get better latency so you can't use the same soundcard for anything else. (that only matters if FL studio is running though, as soon as you turn off FL it stops using ASIO4ALL (unless you have some unresponsive plugins that failed to close).

Try This
1. Right click the volume button and select playback devices
2. Right click in that menu on any playback device that shows and select the show disabled devices.
3. Reenable any device you might've disabled

Hello, thank you for the reply!

I have already have the show disabled devices thingy checked. There are no other disabled sound devices.

When I open FL, that is the only app that will play any sound. If I were to start up a movie or something with it open, it won't work.

Skype says it cannot detect my sound card, but FL can? Anyway, thanks for the help once again, although it wasn't a solution.
