My PC makes a clicking sound almost 8 times out of 10 when i start up.I think it is my HDD (1 TB Hitachi) And cant do anything during this time. The screen freeze or always busy. So i installed another HDD (500GB Toshiba) hoping i can save my important stuff.
I have only one game in that new HDD and once the same noise came so i reboot the PC the new HDD was missing but after the second shutdown and turning on it returned.

Another day while working on the PC the screen went blue saying there is an error in HDD and i couldn't restart. It said no disk to boot. I turned it off and turned on next day and then it is working properly only had to select the boot up HDD from bios. Still the clicking noise comes just after start up almost every time

This is driving me nuts. When i tell the hardware shop they cant find anything wrong . No errors in HDD. Please tell me why this is happening. It is so annoying. The PC and it's components are only 3 months old.

It would be a big help if anyone can give me an idea

here are the specs
2nd Gen Core i3 2100 processor
Asus P8 H61-M LX3 R2.0 Mother board
Transcend 8GB DDR3 ram
AD tech H-1700 550W power supply
EVGA Nvidia Geforce 630 1GB DDR3
1 TB Hitachi 7200RPM HDD
500 GB Toshiba 7200RPM HDD
Asus DVD writer .
windows 7 64 bit

thanx

Sounds like something is electrically wrong.
You may want to invest in some diagnoses on your power supply or perhaps there is something wrong on the board of the hard drive.

It's difficult to diagnosed if your SATA power is not giving the correct voltage under a load. so if you have a spare power supply you may want to use that.

If it still does it then you can rule out the power supply.

Lots of home users dont have power supplies and HDD's lying around I understand. so you may want to take it back to a technician again but explain you want the hard drive tested and restarted in the machine etc. as they could be testing it externally.

This is a tricky one you have.

Yeah i feel it too that it is an electrical problem. I changed the sata power cables of hard drives and the dvd drive still it is there. I plugged it to a different location and still it is there.
No i have to change the power supplies as u said. I informed my hardware supplier he said he will fix a used one and see how it goes.
Hope that will find the reason for this.
Even yesterday the HDD turned off and had to restart and re select the boot up disks.

I had excatly the same thing happen to me, I had to buy a new HDD and say goodbye to my files on the old one, it was broken. This was posted several months ago, but i had the problem for several months until the drive actually refused to work at all. After a while it just kept klicking on startup and saying the bootdrive was missing. Sorry for your loss :)
