Memtest Consistent Failure On Single Computer

No matter what stick of ram I test, it fails. Same test, test #3. Known good sticks of ram are failing, no matter what slot, in what combination, alone or together.

I'm running an i5-3550 on a Biostar B75mu3+ motherboard.

Is it my CPU's integrated memory controller failing? I ran a diagnostic with Intel's CPU diagnostics software, but it came up as passing. Is something on my motherboard faulty?

No CPU pin damage, received a new CPU from Intel as a replacement today. Same error. Then I ran the newest memtest version 5.0, same 65k+ errors at test 3 on. Then I activated fail safe mode and no errors were detected at all.

Do you have the latest BIOS? If not then update. If you do, use the CMOS jumper on the mobo and do a hard reset. Also what is the DRAM, if it's to high a freq for the 3550 you can have problems yet will prob run fine at default (1333 I believe on this mobo) Would help to know what set of sticks you have

I updated to the latest BIOS, the dram is the Team Xtreem Dark Series 8 gig (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313080). I ran memtest 5.0 with failsafe mode on and no errors were detected.

Might be a bug in the test - they had problems with I think test 7 a while back - do you have the latest version? If not might try that, if so might try an older version....also the mobo or PSU may not be regulating voltage correctly - could try raising the DRAM voltage + 0.05 and see what that does
