Water cooler RPM, is it ok?

I purchased the Corsair CW-9060007-WW Hydro Series H60 water cooler a couple of days ago. Everything works great, the temps of my CPU have drop massively (About 20 Degrees). However I use HW Monitor to record my temperatures and RPM of my cooling fans etc. I noticed that my water coolers RPM was over 4500 RPM

Is this safe?
Does HW Monitor double the recorded RPM?

Sorry for this question, if any body could detail the reason why the RPM is so high

Thanks! :)

If i remember correctly the Corsair doesn't really ship with 4500RPM fans. Now see thing is a fan has maximum RPM. And the corsair once are AT Most 1650RPM i can't remember now but 4500 are expensive and not often used, + they sound like a lawnmower going nuts in your case. Maybe HW monitor has gotten few things wrong. Since the H60 is technically watercooler you shouldn't really look at the RPM as it is bullshit more often than not.

I have H80 and my RPM is constantly quote in red ( DANGER DANGER DANGER 600RPM) which is BS cause it is spinning at solid 1250. If your temps are good and your sound is good don't think too much about this.

Thanks for the reply Shallowmist. Do you recommend any other programs that I can use to check the RPM and temps of my components. OR would you say I should just ignore the RPM, I have heard problems with HW Monitor were RPM is read at double or more the speed it is currently running at.

There is no sound problem and the fan doesn't seem to sound like a lawnmower going nuts (LOL ) I think everything is fine, really happy I changed from fan to water, best decision I made!

The thing is the corsairs do not get detected properly, so their RPM is always fluctuating quite a'bit. You could try giving Everest a shot maybe CPU-Z. However if it doesn't sound bad (TRUST ME if it was popping 4500RPm you would know i assure you, also your neighbors and your dog would also know). And yes occasionally there is HW bug quite honestly none of the programs i have used so far have been able to run the H60 properly. As in adjust the fanspeed of it appropriately so it just seems like it is not correctly recognized. The fans used on it are quite different than the once used on normal CPU heatsinks. I would just ignore the 4500RPM if it's quiet. What you can try doing is (albite abit risky try to do it when the CPu is very idle) put your finger on one of the fans to stop it and see if the RPM goes down at all. If it doesn't u have your answer :).
I would just leave it but if u can't sleep at night do that. Also it won't kill your fan doing it once.

ha-ha of course believe me I wouldn't put my finger near a fan spinning at 4500 RPM!

Am I right in saying that the pump is a 3 Pin and the fan is a 4 Pin?

I was going to get the H80i but it wouldn't fit in my case (The Corsair Carbide 300R) as it would be resting on capacitors. My Uncle has the H80i maybe I could ask him!

Thanks for your help :p
