I dont know much about computers (specs) and i have been needing to upgrade my geforce 420 for a while now. I have my mind set on a geforcegtx 660ti (http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-660ti/specifications), although i dont know if it would work with my processor here are the specs: 2.80 gigahertz Intel Core i5-2300
256 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
6144 kilobyte tertiary memory cache
64-bit ready
Multi-core (4 total)
Not hyper-threaded

Will this work with the geforce gtx 660 ti?

Solution
Try what you have first. The I-5's are good cpus. My statement was general in nature, and not necessarily directed at your set up.

I doubt that you will have any bottleneck issues with your cpu and the 660ti.

well then i might buy the 660ti if it fits in my computer xD

Yes the 660 ti will work with your processor. By independent, I mean that the gpu does not "rely" on the capability of the cpu for basic function. If you get into serious gaming, you may find that your cpu will be "bottlenecked" by the gpu (meaning the speed of the processor is not enough to keep up with the speed of the gpu).

oh and 1 last thing how big should my power supply be ?

Depends on what you want to do now and in the future regarding overclocking, sli/xfire gpus, etc. For your setup as it is now, a quality 450w (corsair hx, ax; seasonic or antec) will be fine. If you want to leave a little headroom for future upgrades, move up to 600w.
