Hi everyone. I recently purchased an Asus Radeon HD7870 from Amazon. Upon it arriving here, I hooked it up to my computer and booted up my computer. My monitor showed that it was receiving no signal (monitor has HDMI and VGA, tested with both HDMI and VGA through the DVI-VGA converter that came with the card) and got the same thing. The fans on the card spin up and the system seems to boot. However, there is no display. My PSU is a Corsair CX600. Is this a defective card or a driver issue?

@alexander
I did uninstall the previous drivers before installing this, and like I said it displayed nothing, so it seems to not even be using the basic display drivers.
Full system specs:
CPU: AMD FX-6120
RAM: 8GB DDR3-1600
Storage: Seagate 1TB
Graphics: Radeon 7450 (aka the old graphics card I am upgrading from)
Motherboard: M3970AM-HP
PSU: Corsair CX600
This started out as a prebuilt PC (HP Envy h8-1414)

I guess I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one with this issue...but very frustrating to see that nobody seems to have a clue as to how to fix it!! I have both a Sapphire & an XFX 7870...same issue with both, & MSI (my mobo) says maybe they are not compatible with UEFI BIOS?!?! Have sent support request to Sapphire & XFX...will let you know what they say.

Good luck!

Hi, well it all depends it can be a ton of different things.

For example your screen may not support the resolution/the card may not support the resolution etc.

The only way to find out is:

Uninstall old graphics and chipset drivers
Uninstall old software inc catalyst etc
reboot
make sure you insert your card, set it up in bios.
reboot
safe mode
install new drivers and tweak the resolution
reboot
problem solved?

Okay, I got it working. The problem was as follows:
New(er) HP desktops have a "feature" in their BIOS called Secure Boot. This prevents the computer from fully booting when new hardware is detected. To fix this, I had to go into the BIOS, disable Secure Boot and enable Legacy Boot. I then simply put in the card and it worked.
