Greetings,

I've been having a problem recently with playing certain games. I start up the game and I'm usually able to get about 20 minutes of play until my screen freezes, goes black, my screen turns off and back on in about a second, and I hear a loud GRRR sound out of my headset. After that I can hear the game volume again but when I try to tab out and back in its just a black screen. It only happens to certain games like- Arma 3 Alpha and Company of Heroes 2. I've reinstalled my drivers, checked if the graphics card was correctly connected, and tried tuning down my graphical settings on games- no luck. Any help is appreciated.
-Thanks

The grrr sound just goes along with the crashing. Two questions, are you overclocking your card and are you monitoring the temps?

Well those temps are very acceptable. If you are getting the crashes for some games and not others i would have to blame it on drivers. But you said you updated yours. Did you wipe the old drivers before installing the latest ones?

No I didn't, is there a way to just do a clean reinstall?

Hmmm. Well to be honest if you did a clean driver install, your temperatures are fine and the crashes only happen in SOME games but not all you got a weird problem on your hands. I haven't owned and nvida card since my 8600 GT but i did experience a similar issue with an ati card. I had a couple of crossfired 4850s way back when and I crashed in some games but not others, and some games would just display incorrectly. In the end i figured out the the catalyst AI (an option that supposedly increased performance) had to be disabled. My point is try to see if you have any graphics card setting enabled that interfere with game settings. If you are running the latest drivers you can always try to roll back to a slightly earlier version and see if that fixes the problem. I personally have experienced an instance when this worked. Your problem has to be a software issue. If it was hardware all games would be crashing, not just specific ones.
