Hard Drive not detected on WIndows 7 installation

I recently bought a new computer with no Operating System, everything was working fine until I got to the windows7 installation, the problem is that the SATA hard drive is not being detected.
But it is detected in the BIOS

Hard drive:
Seagate Barracuda 7200 1TB (SATA)

Please help me, thanks.

  1. It looks like you will need the SATA controller's driver to install windows. Look for it on the motherboard's manufacturer's website.
  2. Hmm interesting, I've got the mother's board cd, i'm going to try and look for it, thanks for the reply.

    EDIT:
Windows7 installation does not seem to see the setup of the driver as a driver setup.btw in the website the only driver I saw related to SATA was the chipset it says : "AMD Chipset Driver (include chipset \ sata raid driver)".

    any ideas?

Actually, nevermind I found the correct driver, I don't know if it's gonna work or not.yet.

    EDIT:
I just found out that windows actually sees it as a driver, but it wasn't showing up because I had "hide drivers that are not compatible with the computer hardware"ticked, but still, I install the driver and nothing shows up still.
  4. What mode is your BIOS set to? (IDE, RAID, AHCI)? try changing it.
