This is my first time building a pc and I'm looking for advice.
My budget is $1000.
As cheap as possible without skimping out on anything.
It's mostly for gaming; however I'm also playing around with Unity/UDK,
so I'd like a pc that can run those well.

Here's the build I'm thinking about:

Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/13Bvh/by_merchant/
Benchmarks: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/13Bvh/benchmarks/

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G43 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card

Case: Thermaltake Chaser A31 ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8 (OEM) (64-bit)

Total: $978.86

Anything I should add/take out?

Also is overclocking worth the extra money for the K series cpu?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
Really don't like that PSU. I found a much better one. Also, RAM is expensive, found some that are just as good and cheaper. Added one of the best cases for keeping things cool. Lastly, upgraded mobo.
