I would choose the Intel build, if only because other parts it uses are superior. For example, the old Thermalfake PSU used in the AMD is overrated, and the VRMs on its motherboard do not support decent overclocks (they will pop under the load).

You also forgot that MSI motherboard.

I would go with the Intel build.

That and in alot of unmultithreaded games the I3 wins by a long shot. It really depends what games you wish to play.

I Totally forgot to change the AMDs Power Supply, it's suppose to be the same of the Intels

You could also upgrade the Intel build to an i5.
You would need to overclock the AMD build to equal the performance of the Intel build, but the cheap MSI motherboard in it will not support high overclocks, and its PSU may not provide stable, reliable operation. Premium MSI boards are good, but not that one.

I told my father of the build and he says to grab an Xeon build due to the fact there is no lag and none stop information going through it, is he right? From what i've heard they do not perform well in games.

Xeon is just an i7, etc. that doesn't have onboard graphics and it's usually used for servers.

Since everyone agrees the Intel build is the best here, would there be a bottleneck with the GPU? If not, when will i notice it to bottleneck? ( I will upgrade to a i5 or i7 later in the future )

I doubt it will bottleneck. If it does, it shouldn't be highly noticeable.

Dont go with an I7 for gaming thats just a waste of money. Use the I5 for gaming, untill games suppourt multithreading their wont be any differance between the two

Easy. Intel build but get a lower end i5. newer games run bad on only 2 cores.

However the i3-3220 is seen as a quad core processor in windows.

The i3 is hyperthreaded, so it will look like a quad-core CPU. While it will outperform a non-hyperthreaded Pentium, a true quad-core i5 will blow it out of the water.

yeah its not seen as a quad processor in windwos, windows sees it as a dual core with hyper threading. Threaded performance is only 25% the performance of a true core making it as powerfull as 2 1/2 core cpu not a quad core. I have a 3220 and its great in almost every game but new multithreaded games like metro last light far cry 3 and bf3 for those i wish i had the I5

Since I have some spare money i'll look into a i5 that isn't to pricy, any recommendations?

On a non-overclocking H77 motherboard, an i5-3350P or i5-3470 will be good. There's no point getting an i5-3570K unless you change the mobo to a Z77.

Don't get an S series because its a lower voltage version which has lower performance than the others. If you intendt to OC, the K version is the only way to go.

I'm going to stick with the i3-3220 for now, it's fine for doing what i want, i have a Core 2 Duo that plays BF3 and GTA 4 with a GTX 550 Ti on medium to low settings at native resolution of my 1680 x 1050 monitor. I'll upgrade later if I have any problems, I might go with the i5-3350P, but i'll do some more looking into it. Honestly for the extra $50, i might just pick up a 7870.

I Found a FX 6300 in a newegg combo, pairing it up with a 7850 2gb. Now i have to go to and buy a hard drive.
