Hi i have had my probook for about 8 months. Recently it has started giving an annoying buzzing sound. I am not sure if its the fan or the hard disk. Can anyone help me find out where the noise is coming from and what shall i do for it. Just installed HWMonitor and CoreTemp software both of them show the temperature to be around 40C. Are these software reliable?

Yes they are reliable, I use them my self, It could be your hard drive because that has the most moving parts except for the dvd drive if you have one.

Recently had this issue, check if the noise is coming from the fan. If it is, pop off the keyboard, there is likely a little sticker just over where the fan is and it rubs against it when in operation. Remove the sticker and you should be good to go. Hope this helps.
