Hi, I'm building my first comp and I recently decided to get the GTX770.

My mother board is: MSI Z77A-GD65 Gaming http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130686

I kind of want to get the MSI GTX 770 to match: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127741

But do you think there is a good reason that I should get the EVGA GTX 770 instead?

I'm not a big PC gamer (just SC2 atm). But who knows, someday I might be.

Currently I play SC2 on a 3 year old "gaming" laptop at NOT NEAR max (probably closer to medium) settings, and I slow down the game any time there is more than ~200-~300 units/objects on the map.

As I said, theres very little difference.

Between the reference card and the best 670 model you may see a 5% performance increase... but at what price? In the end its not worth it.

If you want a good card, get the cheapest gtx 670. If you want that bit extra performance, rather than getting the best model 670, get the cheapest 680 reference card should be about same price but youd be getting the better model.

I say 670, but it doesnt really matter, apply the same rules to 770/780.

Only get the better models if you plan to OC/Want noise reduction or whatever specific.
