I'm new to the whole building process but it excites me and seems like a fun hobby to pick up. I just built a PC I might be buying for myself, but wanted some of the guru's here to chime in on it a bit. I would like to keep the price below $750 so I have some room to mix and match... This rig is mostly for gaming and streaming/recording.

Thanks guys!

Everything seems fine here, although one thing which you can improve would be the power supply. A cheap one like that may not be a good choice for the expensive components in your system. You would be better off spending a little bit more money on a better brand name which would be more reliable.

Try looking up the Corsair CX500 and CX600 models. These will perform much better than the one which you have chosen.

Hope that helped,
Noob :)

You need to re-evaluate that PSU. Get a Corsair or SeaSonic. The only thing that one is good for is potentially destroying your machine. Also, be aware that (depending on your resolution) you wont be able to max out games, more or less mid-high settings.

Alright, I upgraded to the Corsair Builder 500W 80 PLUS Certified ATX12V

It's priced at $59.99, but has a MIR of $20 so it's a really good value buy and upgrade I assume.

Iv'e seen people making claims that with even worse components then this they were maxing out games like BF3, and MMO's. Is there something you recommend that would improve my performance? I can bend a bit...

I currently run on a my Rig on a Vizio Flatscreen with 1278 x 768 resolution. Should I invest in a Monitor? I'm grateful for the help.

If you are only using 768, then you may hit "high" on BF3. If you get a higher resolution monitor (1080+) you're pushing it. BF3 and MMO's are not one in the same. You may be able to run WoW on ultra, but that doesnt mean BF3 will.

Take a look at my sig rig. I have a similar set up as far as RAM and CPU are concerned. Granted, mine is OCd to 3.8. I run 1920x1200 with a 570 SC netting ALMOST constant 60 fps in BF3 on a Ultra/High mix. This is because of my GPU.

The 965 has potential, but when paired with a 650, you're limiting it at a higher resolution

I switched some things up, and tried to upgrade in crucial areas. I was really wondering if I would need the cooler unit for this? I don't plan on OC'ing sense iv'e never actually tried to do it.

The fx 6300 is better than the 965. Overclocking is pretty easy, and it would be wise to get an aftermarker cooler for better temps in general, so I would recommend it (the cooler master hyper 212 evo would be even better, but budgets are budgets.

Right now, powercolor's 7870 le is on sale for $210 after rebate, and even if you don't go for that, I wouldn't recommend getting the xfx card. Try to find a sapphire, asus, gigabyte, or msi instead.
