Haven't posted in a while, but I'm back! Need some advice.
I built my first computer 5 years ago. That was a i7 920, XFX 4870 1GB, and other parts I don't remember.
My mom is using this 10 year-old Pentium 4 Dell, so I plan to just give her my desktop and build a brand new one. I think it's about time?
Approximate Purchase Date: Late July / Early August
Budget Range: Below 1200 after tax and shipping
System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, schoolwork, surfing the web
Are you buying a monitor: Yes ( I already have a 23'' LG that's 5 years old, but still working. I need a second one for college. Helps with productivity.)
Do you need to buy OS: No (Free OS from college ^_^)
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg, amazon, superbiiz, doesn't matter.
Location: Will be assembling in Pittsburgh
Parts Preferences: Prefer intel cpu, bang-for-buck gpu
Overclocking: Yes, a little
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: 1080P
Additional Comments: So my mom does not game, so I was thinking about just keeping the XFX 4870 for now? She can use the Intel 4000 graphics. Since I'm building in Augustish, should I wait for the 8xxx Series from ATI? Or should I buy a 7950 Vapor-X now?
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: It's been a while. Mom needs an upgrade.

Need recommendations on monitor, I don't need anything SUPER fancy, just 1080p and reliable. Also need help deciding whether I should buy a 7950 now, or wait till 8xxx series comes out.
