Ive been trying to overclock my 3870K, and have bumped up my voltage to 1.6v. I know this is high (most people 1.3 max), wondering what would happen if I run at this ? I can prime95 for hours with no problems and a max temperature of 51 degrees under load (custom water-cooling rig)

It also seems I can only put my multiplier to max 45, is there anyway of getting it higher?

much appreciated

you'll burn it, Absolute Max voltage is 1.52V as of intel specs sheet and for 24/7 max recommended is 1.35 to 1.4V if you have really good cooling like you... passing 1.4V the silicon degrade and you'll need more and more voltage everyday to run stable until the CPU or motherboard VRM burn...

PS: Even on LN2, most people get 6ghz with 1.3V (lowest temps help reducing the Vcore)
