hi eveyone,

I have a cpu that has no graphics card in it, the processor is a Intel Pentium D cpu 2.80GHz and I am wondering whether the AMD Radeon HD 6770 Graphics card would be compatible with the processor? Is there any other graphics cards at a respectable price that would suit for playing games such as Minecraft, Terraria and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas?

All help is much appreciated,
thanks

Considering its an extrememly low end cpu. I wouldnt recommend buying a graphics card for that setup until you upgrade your setup. If you purchased a 6770 for your current setup you would use only 40% of the graphics card max because the cpu would bottleneck you from using any more

The Pentium D will be a bottleneck for even an HD 6770. Your 2.8Ghz Pentium D is slower than a modern 1Ghz netbook processor.

LGA 1156 is newer than LGA 775.........He has a Pentium D. 2 Pentium 4 chips on the same die. Netburst. A 6770 will be hugely bottlenecked by that CPU. An HD 5750 or HD 6750 is not a bad choice. I would say up to an HD 5670 or 6670 would be as good as you want to pair with that chip. Even those would probably see a bottleneck.
