Installed the drivers. Opened the Razer settings, and it tells me no mouse detected. Tried plugging the mouse into a different USB port. Still no luck.

Any ideas? It is defaulted to left click is right click and right click is left click which means it's pretty much unusable to me until I can get that switched around using the driver, which I can't do until the driver detects the mouse.

Also the mouse is supposed to be 3500 dpi but the driver only offers 1800 dpi.

Depends on which gen of death adder. There are several version of alot of the razer mice, which is one of the reason I do not buy them. They are too damn lazy to make a new mouse for the next gen of sensor, so they just confuse everyone instead.

Razer products are great it depends on what you like personally. Steel series is way to high of dpi 11,000 is just not feasable. You should go with what you like look and feel wise for me thats razer for you its sensors :p

My main issue with razer is they really dont make a mouse that fits my semi-claw grip style. My Logitech G9x is a pefect fit, and its 5600dpi is just high enough for what I am used to. Moving from one side of one of my two monitors to the other side of the second monitor is less than an inch of movement across the mousepad.

are you using razer synapse 2.0?
if yes you may need to download the drivers in addition to synapse depending on what version of mouse you have.

you said this is a left handed mouse. how you said it left and right clicked sounds like defaults to me.

if you go under mouse properties in windows there is a way to reverse the two.

Ugh, nevermind. Derped out pretty badly there - forgot to restart my pc.

And damn, this mouse is massive. Nearly double the size of my previous mouse (Microsoft wireless 3000)

Edit:
Yes it is 3500 dpi (supposed to be) it says so on the box.

THIS MOUSE IS HUGE!
