3770k is a 4 core unlocked CPU, you can overclock it.
3820 is a 6 core locked CPU, you cannot overclock it.
Both have hyper threading technology from intel.
The 3770k fits into socket 1155 (Z77 motherboard), the 3820 fits into socket LGA 2011 (X79 motherboard)
