I mainly play CS:GO so hearing footsteps is important to me. This fan advertises to be quiet and it is also a dual fan so ideally it should be quiet. The thing is, when I play my game, even on the lowest settings, the fan speed goes up and i can hear it spinning through my headphones. I am using open ear headphones so i am able to hear the fan spinning through the game noise.

Is there a solution to the fan speed turning up? I am considering setting the speed lower instead of automatic with speedfan, but im afraid this might fry the gpu.

Please help, thanks.

you dont need to use speedfan in catalyst control center you should be able to control fan speed. I would try 60% and see if thats loud for you if not then keep it at that constant should be fine. Anything lower constant might not be good when you get to full load on your gpu.
