Aight so I have a HP g60 laptop with a intel mobile express 4 family chipset series with Vista. I decided to update the drivers for it since I never have and i accidentally disconnected my laptop from power during installation. Turned it back on and my monitor is stuck at 1024x768 resolution instead of my usual higher one, and my computer cannot sleep. Went into device manager and saw that my drivers are completely gone for the chipset family. I went online and tried installing the drivers but every single time it says the installation has failed. I am pretty sure I'm using the right drivers. I also accidentally deleted the intel mobile express 4 family chipset series from the display adapter tab a few hours later so I don't know how to get that back. I'm completely stuck since every time I install the correct drivers it just fails. Any help?

Thanks alot.

I Don't have any restore points on my computer. When you say run it in safe mode where can I do that? If I don't have any backup points aside from a few today after I did some updates then what could I do?

You get into Safe Mode by tapping Function 8 as the machine powers up but if your backups didn't include the folders where drivers are stored, I can't see how retrieving them will help. You would be looking for c:\windows\system32\drivers and \DRVSTORE and the hidden folder c:\windows\inf
