I have an HP Envy 4-1015DX.. It's got an i3 2377M CPU @ 1.50GHz.. Will the memory be compatible?

Specifications of the RAM i'm adding:

Elpida 4GB 2RX8 PC3-12800S-11-10-F3

Technology: DDR3L SO-DIMM
Density: 4GB (4096MB) per module
RoHS: Yes
Pin Count: 204-pin
Op. Temp.: 0C to +85C
Data Rate: DDR3L-1600
Speed: PC3-12800
CL: 11
Cycle Time: 1.875ns
Voltage: 1.35V
ECC: Non ECC
Module Ranks: Dual Rank
Register: Non Parity
Low Noise 8-Layer PCB
Meets and/or Exceeds Apple/Intel Specifications
Fully Compliant with JEDEC specifications
RoHS Certified

Solution
Hello:hello:

DDR3L Stands for Low-Voltage. The DDR3L standard is 1.35V and has the label ’’PC3L’’ for its modules. The memory should work in your laptop. Moreover, Crucial also lists 1.35v memory modules so I think it will work. But having said that if you could go with lower latency module with the same specifications that will be even better (the latency of the above memory is CL11, the lowest latency for the speed - 1600MHz is CL7).

Okay because I was told that DDR3L-1600, PC3-12800 wouldn't work with my laptop, but then some others were telling me it would. I just don't want to waste money because I won't be-able to return it.

Nah .. Make sure your RAM type is exactly same as of your current RAM. Same frequency and module type, and it would work well as it is listed on official HP website in your laptop's specifications.

You might want to pick as solution if your problem is solved. That should help others too. :)

Well the RAM I have in my laptop now is Hynix DDR3 PC3-12800.. I just think that the other RAM is a good deal, 35 dollars for two which would bring me to 8GB. Also they would be same model and frequency. I just don't know if DDR3L is compatible with Sandy Bridge.

Well basically I just want to know what the L means and since I only have used DDR3 in my laptop will DDR3L work. Anyone else know?
