Do I need another fan?

Hi guys. I have a Thermaltake V4 Black Edition with the following fans:

FRONT: Corsair AF120 (@7V - very quiet)
TOP: Corsair AF120 (@12V - quiet but the "woosh" bothers me a little)
BACK: The stock V4 fan (very quiet and low CFM).

So, I was thinking to buy another fan (120mm), to put on top and then all the fans of the case will operate with 7V to make the system quieter (except the one in the back that are going to still with 12V).

Is it worth? Will the noise decrease? And what about the air flow?

Thanks for the help!

That depends on what is in your case. A 3120T with a HD6450 produces a lot less heat than an i7 with a SLI pair of GTX480s.
You might find it more useful to get a simple rheostat fan controller for that top fan, and just turn it down.

My config:

i5 3570
HD 7950 Dual-X OC
2x4Gb Vengeance
OCZ Agility 3
Corsair CX600

My temps are very good. But the "woosh" bothers me when a sit down for a long time to use the PC. Turning the top fan down may affect the air flow, especially with the i5 heat. Doesn't it?

So, what I'm thinking is to put another fan on the top and both will operate with 7V, instead of 1 fan @ 12V.

Thanks for the help!

Yes it can affect the airflow just get another fan it could help. Replacing the fans with very silent once is also an option like Silent Wings. I think they have very low audible sound so u will not hear anything except your GPu and CPU fan.

Even a mildly OC'ed 3570K doesn't produce a lot of heat. Your graphics card probably adds a good amount of heat though. A slow side fan (if you can install one) might help; it did on one of my systems when I started bitmining with it.

Better thinking...a fan controller could be right for me. The "woosh" sound bothers me when I'm browsing, watching series, when gaming it really doesn't make a difference because the CPU and GPU fans are loud!

Would you recommend me the NZXT Sentry Mesh? I need just a simple fan controller.

Thanks for the help guys! Thanks for the help guys!
