i5-2500k Clock Speed

Hello again Tom's Hardware.

I just have a quick question, using my CPU's Power Saving Mode, the Clock Speed drops down to 1600MHz from 4500MHz when the CPU is idle, I have noticed that it seems to stay at full speed a lot more than necessary (right now for instance)

This isn't a major issue, currently sitting at 28C in a ~20C room and temperatures rarely exceed 55C under load and reached a maximum of 69C after a 13hr Prime95 test.

I am simply curious as to whether I can tell it to Downclock more often than it is?

Thanks in advance

Solution
In my experience, no. It may depend on your motherboard or may be impossible because of some algorithm that determines when it clocks up/down.

Cheers man, I guess it isn't really a big deal seeing as my temperatures are generally okay ^^
