I'm not sure if this is the right part of the forum to post this, move it if it's not.

Everything was working normaly the months, weeks, days, hours before. So i come back home, start the PC, and i notice that my monitor displayed an error of "No Video input". So i removed all the cables from the electricity/PC, put them all back in and same error. Then i noticed i had another VGA cable plug on the back of the PC and i pluged it there. Then the monitor immideatly launched, everything looking normal, just that the resolution was low. So i went to put it to the standart resolution i use - 1920x1080(i think), but there was only the option of 1920x1440 so i clicked it.

After the monitor blacked out a messege from the monitor NOT the PC poped up saying that "Can not display this video mode, change computer display input to 1920x1080@60GHz." And i'm basicly runing atm on 1600x1200res(....eww).

The monitor is: Philips brilliance 234CL. 1 year and 7 month old. 1920x1080 resolution set as the standart one.

The cable is a standart two-side "VGA" cable.

I can't really tell what the problem is. I suspect that the driver thingy on the 1st vga computer plug on the back is burnt out and the new one is "weaker" due to not comprehending with 1920x1080(my monitor's standart resolution). If you guys can help me out and explain me what exactly happened without me having to contact a PC guy it would be much appreciated, thanks. :)

Ok, so you do have image now, if not follow this.

First of all, you have to get back to a low resolution so the screen works.

You can do this by hitting F8 just before the Windows logo shows up and selecting Enable Low Resolution Video (640 x 480).

If you already have video....
What kind of card is it? Many video cards have options to add custom resolutions.

I'm using an Nvidea geforce gtx 550 Ti, yes i do have video. Though i am on a lower than standart for my monitor resolution and also when i try to open "Nvidea control panel" it says that such a graphics card was not detected.
