Yes I have googled around everywhere but nothing really seems up to date with these new Nvidia graphics cards coming down the line... I am looking to build my very first gaming pc (whoo!). Lived in a rural district and never had the power to actually run a power pc but now I've moved to the city... bam!
Ok back on track... as the title suggests, under $2000! Preferably under $1800 in fact but I would rather like to have one of these new juicy 700 series GPU's. I plan to use a 120hz monitor at 1080p so... yeah... best bang for this price range?? suggestions??

ps If you reccomend AMD please give me a good reason cause I haven't had a good track record with them... I also will overclock to hell and back... just saying XD

well this wouldnt be best price/performance but this is what i suggest.

GTX 780 - 650$ / GTX 680 in SLI, 700-800$ ( basically a "cheap" 690 )
I4-4770k - 350$
LGA 1050 MB - 200$ ( a "good" one )
8/16 gb ddr3 1600/1866 mhz ram 80-200$
noctua nh-d14 CPU cooler - 80$
some nice case - 100$
depending on case, 120/140mm fans x number 10-100$
samsung 840 120gb ssd - 100$
1 tb HDD - 80$¨

= 1500-1900$

Do you really reccomend a Haswell cpu?? Does it offer that much more for a GAMER than Ivy Bridge?? I was tossing around the idea of a GTX 780... I could always get another later if I needed to in SLI to meet the requirements for newer games
thanks for the answr!

well it doesnt offer that much more gaming performance than the ivy, but the price difference is only like 20$, and it can handle multithreaded tasks better.

My pleasure. :)

Haswell is superior, albeit not massively, to Ivy Bridge. The main sticking point would be the potential to get a sub-par CPU for overclocking, though even in that case you should still be in fine shape.

Also, my pitch:

Note: I would recommend waiting for the ASUS DirectCU II-cooled version of the 780.
